PART 3: The Email That Exposed Everything
I met with a lawyer and was told to preserve every document, message, and bank record.
Then I found an email from David to his brother.
He wrote that I would be angry—but I wouldn’t leave because I was “too loyal.”
He was counting on my salary, my next promotion, and my willingness to keep rescuing him.
Then I found another message:
“If I need the house, Emily will sign. She always does eventually.”
I had never agreed to anything.
For the first time, I realized David wasn’t trying to fix our marriage.
He was planning how to keep me trapped in it.
