Liverpool transfer news as Anthony Gordon is involved in a transfer battle including the Reds, while Sporting CP midfielder Morten Hjulmand remains a target for the club ahead of the summer transfer window.

After crashing out of the Champions League on Tuesday, Liverpool will end the season trophyless, with attention for the remainder of the campaign turning toward Premier League ambitions.
With that said, here is Liverpool.com‘s verdict on the latest Liverpool transfer links.
Anthony Gordon (Newcastle United)
Liverpool has previously been linked with a move for Anthony Gordon, with the former Everton man impressing for both Newcastle United and England in the past year.
That’s because an exit could be on the cards, with Fabrizio Romano explaining on his YouTube channel that the Magpies may be open to a sale because of their financial position.
He revealed: “There is a possibility Newcastle sell one or two top players in the summer transfer window. It’s about Financial Fair Play, it’s about the cost of the squad, so they have to consider exits.”
“That’s not new. We know Yan Diomande and now there are links with Anthony Gordon. There will be more, for sure, because Bayern are looking at wingers, but at the moment, what I’m told is that it’s still early, with several clubs involved in the first round of discussions around Anthony Gordon.”
Liverpool.com says: The rumors surrounding Anthony Gordon’s future at Newcastle appear to be ramping up, especially in relation to Bayern Munich, but it’s no surprise to see Liverpool linked as well.
The Reds clearly need to add more firepower to the front line, especially with pace, but there can be elements of frustration with the winger and his decisions around the box.
Add to that the likely cost of any deal, and it could prove to be an expensive one for a player who would likely compete with Rio Ngumoha on the left.
